I check my phone to see what time it is, then forget the time, then check again, so living in the moment memes are basically my therapist now. This one gets it.

Put the phone down and suddenly the world is loud, bright and full of strangers, so respectfully, no thank you. Here are the rest, best enjoyed while scrolling.

Front row seat, zero ticket price.

Historically, a very normal Tuesday.

Some people collect stamps. Respect the block.

Mom's diagnosis is always the same.

She is the only one who will remember it.

Someone built the dream bathroom.

Same energy, different species.

Forty-five seconds is a personal best.

No Wi-Fi, full bars of joy.

Barbershop quartet, every single meeting.
My favorite running joke is the one where anything old automatically counts as mindful. Medieval guys sawing a tree are living in the moment, and soldiers in a trench have not a cell phone in sight. These phone memes roast the idea that everyone before us was enlightened just because they did not own screens. I feel seen, because I absolutely would have been the cave lady staying up late for no reason.
The other half are relatable memes about what happens when you actually look up. You find a hole in the yard, a bathroom stall with no door, or a seal sunbathing next to a stranger in the exact same pose. I tried a phone-free Sunday once. By noon I had reorganized my spice rack twice and texted my mom from my laptop, which I am counting as a win.
The joke under all of these is that nobody actually wants to give the phone up, we just want permission to feel bad about it together. Honestly, that counts for something. Laughing at our own scrolling habits with funny memes is the closest thing to a support group some of us will ever join, and the meetings are always open.
The phone is down. The thumb is twitching. The phone is back up.
