Saturdays used to mean your mom dropping you at the mall with ten dollars and a time to be back at the fountain. I spent it all on a pretzel by one o’clock, then walked around for three hours looking like I had business there. Every afternoon we dig up a fresh pile of classic memes, continuing yesterday’s trip through the vault. Go find a bench and scroll.

I forgot most of what I learned in high school, but I remember every one of these old memes like I was there, which I was, on a family computer in the den with my sister yelling about the phone line. The best memes from that era were never smart. A shark eats too much dip, a cat makes demands about its feet, and somehow that still gets me every time. These vintage memes and viral tweets have outlived three of my email addresses and every plan I ever made at the mall.

Tomorrow afternoon there’s another stack coming out of the vault, so pace yourself and maybe drink some water. If you want something newer, yesterday’s meme dump is still warm, and the full-size Snickers edition is still worth the trade. If one of these took you back to the food court, hit the share buttons below and send it to whoever split that pretzel with you. They probably still owe you a dollar, and I would absolutely bring that up.

Who needs to see this?

Send it to the friend who’ll laugh the hardest, or post it for everyone.
