It’s October 13, Halloween is more than two weeks away, and Victoria Justice is already hosting a costume party in Los Angeles in full goth, while her sister, Madison Grace Reed, arrives as a prom queen who clearly lost a fight with the punch bowl. That’s how early celebrity Halloween costumes 2026 got going. I hadn’t even bought the candy I was going to eat myself.

Who Dresses Up as Their Own Teenager?
Kim Kardashian, that’s who. By October 23 she had posted herself as her 13-year-old daughter North West, blue hair, black grills and all, after strangers online spent a while debating North’s look. As a mom, I respect it. The most supportive thing a parent can do is wear your style so convincingly that you have to update your whole aesthetic just to get away from her.

The same week, Overcompensating costars Benito Skinner and Owen Thiele went as PinkPantheress and Zara Larsson from their candy-colored Stateside remix, airbrushed tees, plaid micro skirts and all. Larsson herself showed up in the comments with “Twiiiiiin!!!!” which is the highest score a costume can get. Paris Hilton, meanwhile, went full Britney Spears at the 2001 VMAs, giant snake included.

Did Anyone Have Hot Meg Griffin on Their Card?
By October 26, Chlöe Bailey had dressed as Meg Griffin from Family Guy, a character the show itself has spent decades treating like a punching bag. The pink beanie and glasses are perfect, and W Magazine calling it Hot Meg Griffin is the nicest thing anyone has said about Meg in more than 25 years of Family Guy. I’ve never felt worse about my own Meg Griffin era, which was most of eighth grade.

Around October 28 came the most internet-literate entry of the year. Mary Beth Barone and Benito Skinner, who host the Ride podcast, rebuilt the tense 2019 talk show moment when Dakota Johnson told Ellen DeGeneres, “That’s not the truth, Ellen.” Their caption was “The truth will set u free.” Of all the pop culture halloween costumes this month, this is the one I’d hang in a museum.

Paris Hilton also logged her second look, a Beauty and the Beast family portrait with her as Belle and her toddlers, Phoenix and London, as Chip and Lumière. Lizzo went anime, dressing as Seiko Ayase, the cigarette-and-glasses grandma from Dandadan, which is a deep cut I respect enormously.

What Happens at a Party Called the Cursed Amulet?
Disco Nap’s annual Cursed Amulet party in Bushwick happened, and the photos started landing by October 29. Elliott Page and Julia Shiplett went as the Busy Bee scene from Best in Show, the one where Parker Posey loses her mind over a lost squeaky toy. One of them is a giant bee. The other is a woman about to have the worst afternoon of her life. It’s the funniest couples costume I’ve seen, and I’m a little jealous.

Patti Harrison went darker and much more obscure. She dressed as the chef from a notoriously grim Canadian workplace safety ad about a kitchen accident, with the red face to match. Most people at that party probably had to have it explained to them, which, for Patti Harrison, is part of the costume.

Did Any Celebrity Halloween Costumes Top a Ticketmaster Seat Map?
Probably not. Lily Allen showed up as a Ticketmaster seat map, a white puffer covered in little blue dots, and it might be the scariest of all the funny halloween costumes this year. Every one of those blue dots is an available seat, and every one of them will disappear the second you click on it.

What I love about this year’s batch is that almost nobody went for sexy cat or a generic vampire. They went for a deleted scene, a talk show standoff, a safety ad, a seat map, or their own kid. The best costume is a joke only you were weird enough to remember, and it turns out famous people want that feeling as much as the rest of us.
If one specific costume isn’t enough, Bootleg Halloween Costumes Are Proof That a Lawyer Read the Box and a Child Did Not, Gay Halloween Memes Are Back for 2026, and Someone Went as a Fingernail, and 30 Couples Halloween Costumes You’ll Actually Want To Wear are all ready to go. The snake stays home.
