I am absolutely bewildered by what I am looking at right now. The level of craftsmanship here is staggering, yet the subject matter is an absolute nightmare. We have people tattooing PS2 discs onto their skin and creating McRib cufflinks. Why? It is a masterclass in awful taste great execution that makes me want to shut down the entire internet. You have the skills of a Michelin-starred chef, but you are serving up a mustard bottle on a hot dog. It is madness!

Awful taste great execution

I have seen some bizarre art in my time, but a realistic hand making a peace sign tattooed on a palm is enough to make me lose my mind. Who authorized this? The technical ability is undeniable, but the choice is a complete disaster. It is like putting a gold-plated engine in a rusted-out van. These weird tattoos are everywhere in this gallery, from the French’s mustard bottle wearing boots to a PlayStation 2 Star Wars disc that looks far too real. It is a waste of immense talent on things that should have stayed as intrusive thoughts in the shower. I am staring at a muscular plush toy with a human face and I am genuinely concerned for the person who designed it. It is a cursed collectible that belongs in a museum of regrets. The Heinz Ketchup themed video game controller is another example of a questionable design that has no business being this polished. It is a collaboration concept that nobody asked for, yet it looks professional. We are witnessing the strange intersection of creative genius and total aesthetic failure. You have action-hero religious figures launching wine bottles like they are in a Bond movie. It is visually impressive, but it is also a complete and total mockery of good taste. I am impressed by the Ghanaian movie posters too; they have a raw energy that you just cannot ignore, even if the proportions are completely wrong.

The Gregor Samsa necklace is perhaps the most confusing item of all. It is a silver insect next to a bed, representing Kafka’s Metamorphosis with a level of detail that is frankly unnecessary. We are celebrating creators who spent a massive amount of time on visual puns and parodies that look better than they have any right to. It is a “hot chicks with big jugs” painting that is technically perfect but socially a disaster. I respect the hustle, but I hate the product. It is a masterclass in doing the wrong thing perfectly.

If you enjoyed these masterpieces of the bizarre, you should check out some DIY fails, home renovation disasters, or maybe some funny tattoo mistakes. There is a lot of questionable talent out there waiting to be discovered. Just make sure your next big idea isn’t a condiment-themed piece of jewelry.
