The first character I ever made was a thief who stole from his own party, and I genuinely thought I was a genius. I was not. I was the guy everyone quietly stopped inviting, which is how a lot of us end up loving dnd memes: from the cheap seats, remembering our crimes. These are for everyone who rolled badly in real life and still showed up with snacks.

Knights around a round table meme criticizing Wizards of the Coast business practices.

I love how much of this is about players choosing violence against their own convenience. Every tabletop rpg has a rulebook the size of a cinder block, and every table has one guy who refuses to learn a second system out of pure spite. That guy was me. I played a barbarian for three straight years because reading spell lists felt like homework, and I still claim it was a character choice.

The dungeon master gets roasted too, and honestly they earned it. Naming every goblin so the party feels guilty about killing them is psychological warfare, and I respect it. Some of these nerd memes also take swings at the company that owns the game, which is the most fantasy move possible: loving the world and side-eyeing the god who runs it.

Underneath the dice jokes, this is a hobby about grown adults agreeing to pretend together for four hours, which is harder than it sounds. Everybody is tired, everybody is busy, and somebody always forgot their character sheet. They keep showing up anyway, because a table full of friends laughing at a bad roll beats almost anything else you can do on a weeknight.

The dice are cursed. The snacks are gone. The session is canceled again.
