October has not even started and a store near me already has inflatable Santas standing next to the Halloween skeletons. My brain works the same way with classic memes: nothing ever gets put away, it just stays up all year and blinks. Every afternoon we pull a fresh stack from the vault, and yesterday’s trip through the classics is still warm. These are the ones I never took down.

I remember exactly where I was the first time I saw the Home Alone skeleton frame, and it is embarrassing how much of my brain it still rents. These old memes hold up better than most of my opinions from that era, and the viral tweets in here have aged like good cheese. My own Christmas lights have been up for two years, so I am in no position to judge. Some were the best memes of their year and some are just a frog having a moment.

Another stack comes out of the vault tomorrow afternoon, same time, same dusty shelf. Until then, yesterday’s meme dump is there for the lunch you already ate, and Saturday’s classic memes for anyone who just realized they are vintage should hold you over until dinner. I will be digging through the archive in the meantime, mostly finding things I laughed at in a dorm room. If one of these unlocked a memory, send it to the friend who was right there with you when it first dropped.
