I have a folder on my phone called Do Not Show Mom, and it is mostly animals doing things that feel illegal. Cats are the reason blursed images exist, and I will not be taking questions. A cat sitting in a collapsed bench like he is waiting on the insurance adjuster is my exact posture at every family function. Between the swole cartoon cat and the one wearing tiny human hands, I have accepted that funny cat pictures are no longer just for aunts, and I am the aunt now.
The real cursed images are signs written by somebody who gave up halfway through their shift. One notice asks people not to have an emergency near a phone that does not exist, which is honestly how I have handled every relationship. I respect anyone committed enough to put a wet floor sign in a swimming pool, because that person has seen things.
We keep sharing this stuff because the world is mostly boring, and a lizard on a leash proves somebody out there is still having an interesting day. Blessed and cursed is just regular life with the lighting slightly off. I will keep saving these to the folder, and my mom will keep not seeing it.
