Kayla Ancrum's viral Twitter thread delves into the realm of everyday annoyances with packaging and proposes ingenious solutions to reinvent these mundane yet frustrating experiences. It's like she's shining a spotlight on the overlooked aspects of our daily lives, showing us that even the smallest annoyances can be transformed into moments of delight with a touch of creativity and innovation.

From user-friendly bacon packaging to cereal boxes that pour flawlessly, Ancrum's ideas promise to transform the way we interact with everyday products. It's like witnessing the birth of a new era in packaging design, where convenience and functionality merge seamlessly to enhance the user experience in ways we never thought possible.

Things we need to reinvent the packaging for and my suggestions on how to fix it. 1. Biscuit cans. Anything is better than this. I've been shot at and that was less startling. This is the packaging style I think we should change biscuits to.

Bacon. I know they're "resealable"now but that doesn't really fix the problem. I think the slices should be cut in half and packaged like lunch meat. Not only would they fit better in the pan cut in half, but it would last longer in the fridge and fit better in the drawer.

Baking soda. This is one of the more IRRITATING ones to me. That little cut here area on the side me off and opening the top is I think it should be packaged like salt. With a pour spout

Ajax/Comet. Opening these cans makes a 100% guarantee that it will spill a little bit inside your cabinet and god help you if the top gets wet and water gets inside. It WILL clump. It needs the same top as a spice canister. The holes are good. It needs the ability to CLOSE.

Flour: This is a rough one but this bag is so awful. The double inside layer, the weak bottom corners. Is it like this bc of nostalgia??? We don't have to live this way! I think it should be a cardboard canister like oatmeal. Sturdy and easy to insert a scooping cup.
Save
Paper towel: this is the least odious, but having it be a cylinder isn't the most efficient shape storage wise. It's paper, fold it accordion style into a stack and put it in a square box with a hole in the top like freezer bags. Think how many boxes you could fit on a shelf.

I don't have a degree in invention or product design but I do clean and cook and to be honest it's shameful and wasteful how long these have been packaged this way. I'm sure I can think of more, but these are the ones that make me the angriest.

Reasonable people are asking about the meat plastic for the biscuit idea! I wasn't thinking that it should be that flimsy cling film, I was mostly showing the stacking/ paper element. It would have to have air tight plastic with the product recessed or thick plastic vacuum seal.

Someone suggested this solution for sugar and it's so good that I needed you all to see it. Measuring cups wouldn't even be an issue because the spout gives so much pouring control. For teaspoons and smaller you can just dip in the top.

PADS ARE TOO LOUD! I dont have an idea for this but someone should get on this immediately

Cereal in a ziplock Chips in a ziplock Pringles can but add the swivel at the bottom like a glue stick so you can turn them up to the top as needed.
