Grown adults have always believed anything said in a serious enough voice. On October 30, 1938, Orson Welles read a Martian invasion over the radio, and newspapers swore the whole country panicked. I would have been first out the door, holding a flashlight and absolutely no plan. This daily dig through classic memes, picking up where yesterday’s trip through the old internet left off, comes with no Martians and very few lies.

Half of these old memes are viral tweets I have quoted out loud at dinner as if I came up with them, which is its own kind of radio hoax. The Seinfeld test still holds up better than most of the tech it describes, and I will not hear arguments. I also still own DVDs purely for the special features, and I have never once watched the director’s commentary. Some of these vintage memes are old enough to vote, and they still beat most of what I scrolled past this week, which was a lot.

The next round of classics lands tomorrow afternoon, and yesterday’s meme dump is still sitting there if you need something fresher. For a deeper dig, the Windows XP batch from Sunday still has some of the best memes we have put up all month, and it loads faster than my laptop. If any of these made you text an old friend a link they have definitely already seen, hit the share buttons below and make it official. I promise there are no Martians in any of them.

Who needs to see this?

Send it to the friend who’ll laugh the hardest, or post it for everyone.
