Every adult has one thing they sold at a yard sale as a kid that is now worth a car payment. Mine was a shoebox of Nintendo games, gone for ten dollars and a popsicle. Classic memes are the one thing I never let go of, so every afternoon I dig a fresh batch out of the vault, and yesterday’s trip through the classics is still waiting. Start scrolling.

I was there for most of these the first time, usually at a desk I was supposed to be working at, calling it research. The bat house plan still feels like the most American revenge ever drafted, and the guy signing leave forms in crayon is my hero. Old memes like these are basically vintage memes now, which makes me vintage, which I am choosing not to think about. Some of the best memes on the internet started as viral tweets nobody can find anymore, so consider this a rescue mission, snacks included.

Tomorrow afternoon brings another dig through the archives, same time, same dusty shelf, and the same guy who refuses to clean it. If you need something newer, yesterday’s meme dump is fresh off the pile, and the sick-day classics from Saturday pair nicely with a ginger ale. Meanwhile I will be at a yard sale this weekend, buying my own childhood back at a markup. And if any of these took you right back, pass them along to the friend who was there with you, or use the share buttons below.
