I have followed internet instructions to fix a sink, cut my own hair, and assemble a bed, and every single time I ended up worse off than the guy in the drawing. That is why WikiHow memes feel personal. Somebody took those calm little illustrations, gave them a horrible new title, and the drawings never stopped smiling. Here are the lessons I wish I had never learned.

Seven alarms is not a schedule, it's a cry for help.

Dominance, ten minutes at a time.
SaveThe animal advice is where I lose it, because I have absolutely tried to reason with a cat like it came with a manual. Squeezing one to see if it is ripe, or clipping clothespins on it to make a hedgehog, is exactly the energy of the best out of context memes: a gentle drawing, a monstrous sentence, and a cat who has clearly seen things.
The relationship guides go darker, and somehow the colors stay pastel the whole time. A marriage ends over the last slice of pizza, which is roughly how my last relationship ended, minus the speech bubble. That calm cartoon face never changes no matter how bad the advice gets, and it is the reason dark humor memes like these land instead of sting.
Underneath the chaos, these work because everyone has been the person in the drawing, calmly following steps toward a disaster. Bad advice memes are just honest about it. I still read the instructions after I break the thing, and I suspect most of you do too, which is why we are all here laughing at a woman getting stared down by a goose.
Step one is closing this tab, and I have never once made it to step one.
Still craving terrible guidance? WikiHow Memes For Advice You Absolutely Should Not Follow picks up right where this left off, and Unhelpful Instructions Always Contain One Step That Is Doing All of the Work explains every flat pack shelf I have ever owned. Proceed without supervision.
