Nothing ages you faster than seeing your childhood stuff called vintage, and the Pokemon binder in my mom’s attic is apparently a retirement plan now. So consider this my afternoon dig through the classic memes, the old favorites we pull out of the vault every day, picking up right where yesterday’s trip through the archives left off. Pour something, sit down, and listen to your knees creak.

Every kid on every field trip, finally vindicated.

Gen X called this a balanced breakfast.

My kidneys have filed a complaint with management.

Appraised at one entire childhood.

Finally, a retirement plan.

Every hobby I bought supplies for in 2020.

Do not get me started at Thanksgiving.

Glowing blue sword, every single time.

Checking with the mushrooms before I commit to anything.
Going through these old memes felt like flipping through a yearbook, if the yearbook were mostly tweets about chip dip and a grown man finding the perfect stick. Some of the best memes in here are the quiet ones, like the guy telling his girlfriend’s coworkers he graduates high school next year, a bit I have stolen at two separate weddings. Vintage memes hit different once you remember exactly which computer lab you first saw them in. Mine had a dial-up modem and a teacher who never once looked up.
Another stack comes out of the vault tomorrow afternoon, so come back with fresh knees. If you need something newer in the meantime, yesterday’s meme dump is still warm, and last Saturday’s batch about waking up early for cartoons pairs nicely with a bowl of sugary cereal. I will be right here, pretending my back is totally fine. The viral tweets in here deserve a second life, so pass this along to the friend who still quotes them in the group chat.
