I have a complicated relationship with Taco Bell, in that it wrecks my body and I keep coming back like it owes me an apology. I’ve ordered from that drive-thru at hours when only truckers and bad decisions are awake, and I’ve never once regretted the order. The next morning, sure. Never the order. These Taco Bell memes are for everyone who said just a snack and ordered for six.

Some of us are still in mourning.

Nobody has a healthy relationship with this place, and the internet knows it. Half these jokes are about loyalty and the other half are about consequences, which is the whole Taco Bell experience in two acts. I once drove twenty minutes for a menu item that had been discontinued for a year, knowing full well it was gone. That’s not hunger. That’s grief with a car payment.

What I love about fast food memes is that nobody is pretending to be classy. Late night food is a judgment-free zone, and Taco Bell is its capital city: show up in pajama pants with a credit card and a dream, and they’ll hand you a bag heavy enough to check at the airport. Food memes about fancy restaurants could never be this honest.

Taco Bell was never really about the food. It’s about the friend who says I could eat at 1 a.m., the car full of people splitting a box, and the grandma who discovers tacos at ninety-two and finally finds her calling. It’s chaos with hot sauce packets, and somehow it always feels like coming home.

Live más, but maybe clear your morning first.
