My worst day this year involved a gas station hot dog and a very long drive home, and I still tell it like a war story. That is why bad day memes are my comfort food. Nothing fixes my attitude faster than a total stranger whose breakfast fruit exploded on the counter. I am not proud of it. I am just a guy who needs to feel like he is winning.

Bad day memes kick off with a dead mouse someone felt inside their shoe.
Protein bar broken open to reveal a hollow, empty middle.

All wrapper, no commitment.

Glass food container shattered around a lunch of rice before the first bite.
Store freezer so iced over the pizzas are buried, in these bad day memes.
Man stuck gripping a broken door handle after his fiancée locked him inside.
Bathroom door with a huge hole punched through after a kid got locked in.

Problem solved, door not included.

Bad day memes include a honeymoon stuck on a plane instead of a Cancun beach.
Hotel desk chair with a stranger's left behind underwear on the seat.

Checked in. Immediately checked out.

Bowl of ramen with a spider floating in the broth.
Dusty car with a flat tire ruins a dinner date in these bad day memes.
Nearly three dollar fast food burger that is basically just a bun.

The patty is in witness protection.

Watermelon split open on the counter with juice dripping down the cabinets.
Bad day memes showing an excavator flipped on its side beside a fence.
Oven full of shattered glass dish shards mixed into roasted potatoes.

Crunchy in the worst possible way.

Amazon delivery photo showing a package dropped into a recycling bin.
Smoke rising from a burning grocery store as firefighters work the scene.
Bad day memes car with a burned interior after sitting unlocked at the mechanic.
Custom birthday PC box arriving smashed open with only foam inside.

Happy birthday to the box.

Bad day memes lesson: one bloody egg ruining a whole bowl of cracked eggs.
Tube of grouse scent dog training lure mistaken for chapstick.

Every bird dog in town is in love now.

The food disasters hit me hardest, because food is supposed to be the one thing that never betrays you. People having a bad day in the kitchen get it from every angle here: a lunch container that shatters before the first bite, a protein bar that turns out to be hollow, ramen with an uninvited eight legged guest. I would have gone straight back to bed and stayed there until spring.

Then there is the stuff that is nobody’s fault and still feels weirdly personal. These mildly infuriating pictures read like the universe testing new material, like a package delivered straight into the recycling bin on pickup day. Funny fails are only funny when they belong to someone else, and I have made my peace with that.

Every one of these people posted their disaster instead of hiding it, and honestly that is kind of beautiful. A bad day shared with strangers turns into a joke, and a joke is way easier to carry around than a grudge. Somebody laughed at their exploded dinner, and I bet it helped a little.

The melon exploded. The package got recycled. The internet laughed with you.

Still feeling lucky? 31 Funny Fails For Anyone Who Needs Proof Their Day Could Be Worse keeps the misery train rolling, and The Worst Cake Fails Are Not Ugly, They Are Staring Directly Into Your Soul is exactly as haunted as it sounds. Go ahead. Your watermelon is safe.
