Everyone secretly believes the year they turned fifteen was the peak of human culture. Somebody made a whole docuseries arguing it was 2003, and I am not going to fight them, because that was the year I met the internet and never really left. Every afternoon I dig up the classic memes still living rent free in my head, and yesterday’s dig is waiting if you missed it. Here is the latest haul.

One of the great classic memes: a pregnancy test showing a check engine light.

Agreed, and October makes it mandatory.

Some of these old memes are older than my car, and they still run better. The pregnancy test with a check engine light has been in my rotation since back when I actually used Facebook, and I still laugh like it’s brand new every single time. The best memes are always the dumb ones: a slug on a skateboard, a cat running the biscuit factory, a grown man crawling into his boss’s office to beg for PTO. I have done that crawl, emotionally, every December and twice before Thanksgiving.

Another round of vintage memes and viral tweets shows up tomorrow afternoon, same time, same embarrassing nostalgia, same guy pretending he is fine. Until then, yesterday’s meme dump has fresher nonsense, and last Thursday’s classic memes go even deeper into the vault. I will be there too, still pretending I understood the ending of Lost, even now. If one of these dragged you straight back to 2003, pass it along with the share buttons below so someone else can feel old with you.
