Funny embroidery patterns
Embroidery used to be for dainty handkerchiefs and pillows that said “Home Sweet Home.” Boring! Thankfully, we have artists like Rebordacao who decided to take this delicate, grandmotherly art form and inject it with a massive dose of attitude.
I love the contrast. You look at it, and it’s beautiful stitching, lovely flowers, maybe a cute little border… and then you read the text and it says “Life is hard, buy lube.” It’s perfection. It captures the modern mood so well. We are all trying to keep it together and look presentable while internally screaming about bills and caffeine. Why not put that on a hoop and hang it in the hallway?
I need the Kermit one immediately. “Sorry I called you an asshole.” That is the energy I am bringing into 2025. And the red book of late life lessons? Too real.
These pieces prove that you can be crafty and cynical at the same time. In fact, stabbing a piece of fabric thousands of times with a needle is probably the best therapy there is. If you have a lot of rage but also want a cute wall decoration, this hobby is definitely for you.
