Failed cakes
Baking is supposed to be fun—unless you’re the person who tried to recreate a Pinterest cake and ended up inventing a new cryptid. Failed cakes are proof that the journey matters more than the destination, especially when the destination is “please don’t eat this.” Whether you’re a regular on “Nailed It” or your idea of baking is setting off the smoke alarm, these cakes will make you feel like Gordon Ramsay. You’ll laugh, you’ll cringe, and you’ll maybe never eat cake again.
Feast your eyes (if you dare) on 24 of the most glorious failed cakes the internet has ever gifted us. These disasters include everything from collapsing towers of frosting to “Why is it staring at me?” face cakes and baking attempts gone fully rogue. The gallery has failed cakes, baking fails, cake disasters, and hilarious kitchen mishaps. Some of these look like they fought back—and lost. If nothing else, you’ll feel better about that time your cupcakes turned into hockey pucks.
You just scrolled through 24 failed cakes and probably felt a wave of relief about your own baking. Suddenly, your lopsided brownies are looking pretty professional. If nothing else, you’ve learned: when all else fails, just call it “abstract cake art.”
