I don’t procrastinate, I just have a very rich inner life between nine and five. Finding the perfect procrastination meme counts as research, and I have been researching since Tuesday.

My favorite lie is that I work better under pressure. I do not work better, I just finally work, at 11:48 p.m., powered by panic and a third coffee I made to avoid replying to an email. These productivity memes get it, especially the to-do list unrolling across the floor like a receipt Past Me printed out of spite.

The ADHD memes in here hit a little too close, because I have absolutely jumped between four tasks and called it a workflow. Lazy memes usually feel like an insult, but these feel like a support group where nobody has to stand up and introduce themselves. And the woman vacuuming a mountainside is the most accurate picture of my weekend chores I have ever seen.

Procrastination is mostly optimism in sweatpants. We put things off because we truly believe Future Us will be calmer, smarter and better rested, and every time Future Us shows up looking exactly like us, holding the same coffee. Still, I would rather laugh about it together than finish anything alone, and honestly, that counts as a team meeting.

I was going to write a better ending, but I will get to it tomorrow.
