Every kid who trick-or-treated somewhere cold knows the heartbreak of a perfect Halloween costume buried under a puffy winter coat. I was a ninja one year, technically, but every neighbor saw a marshmallow holding a sword. This is our daily dig through the classic memes, and yesterday’s trip through the vault is right here if you missed it. Zip up and scroll down.

Classic memes favorite: a dog sleeping in a guitar case instead of its three beds.

Three beds, zero acoustics.

Tweet saying every marriage has a personality hire and someone who understands insurance.
Italian greyhound in a maroon sweater and hood standing on a cold sidewalk.

First cold snap energy.

Classic memes cartoon of He-Man and Skeletor sharing a bike as death and power metal.
Tumblr post about pushing on pull doors in buildings you have never heard of.
Samuel L. Jackson with cat ears calling a random insect some serious gourmet food.

Chef's kiss, apparently.

One of the great classic memes: a cat's eye reflecting a tiny cartoon figure.
Tweet offering to start a party fight for $40 so you can go home early.
Allen wrench fading away like a disappearing meme right after building furniture once.

Gone, along with screw number six.

Classic memes staple: a frustrated couple, because relationships are mostly deciding where to eat.
Tweet about loving video games but refusing to play online against strangers, only the computer.
Tony Soprano bathrobe, tank top, newspaper and slippers laid out as a Halloween costume.

Easiest costume of the year, and the warmest.

Classic memes plush puppy with a big forehead, captioned cuz I be knowin.
Tweet saying one of their all time favorite activities is spending $40.
Michael Jackson leaning over Anakin on Mustafar, captioned Ani are you okay.

Still the best mashup ever made.

Classic memes text chat asking a dealer for a tight hug and forehead kiss.
Fake Magic the Gathering card called Consume that lets you eat your opponent's cards.
Tweet about a coffee shop argument where a woman calls her partner a cognitive minimalist.

Adding this to my LinkedIn.

Classic memes tweet wondering if their dog posted about people walking past the house.
Daniel Craig quoted saying Austin Powers is why James Bond movies turned serious and dark.
Hairy little caveman glaring after Grandma says he must get all the ladies.
Classic memes comic of a type A friend aggressively following a type B friend's dreams.
Cabbage Patch dolls in 80s coats, one holding mom's cigarette while she zips its jacket.

Seat belts were also a suggestion.

Comic of a sleeping chihuahua dreaming of harpooning a giant vacuum cleaner at sea.
Classic memes closer: businessman with basketballs telling his son it's yeet or be yeeted.

Hank has never been wrong.

The sweater dog is me the first week it drops below fifty, wearing every layer I own at once, and I will not be taking questions. Half of these old memes are older than my car and still run better, which says more about my car than the memes. The viral tweets hold up too, especially the one about spending forty dollars, which is my entire personality on a Saturday. And the Cabbage Patch coat zip is the most accurate picture of the 80s I have ever seen, because my mom absolutely did that.

The next batch of classics comes out of the vault tomorrow afternoon, same time as always, with a fresh pile of vintage memes I should have forgotten years ago. This year I am going as Tony Soprano, because a bathrobe fits over a coat and I have finally learned my lesson. If you still need more, yesterday’s meme dump is right there, and Monday’s Furby edition has some of the best memes we have dug up all month. And if one of these took you back, send it to whoever you trick-or-treated with in a coat two sizes too big.
