That didn’t happen

We’ve all seen them—those cringe-inducing posts that are so far-fetched, you wonder if the author’s nose grew an inch while typing. Social media has become a playground for tall tales, where reality often gets twisted into something more akin to a bad movie plot. Whether it's someone claiming they delivered a witty comeback that no one asked for, or describing an encounter that seems to defy all logic, these posts are a goldmine for the phrase “that didn’t happen.” It’s like watching a train wreck; you can’t look away, even as your second-hand embarrassment hits record levels.

This collection of 37 cringey posts will have you shaking your head in disbelief and cringing at the lengths some people will go for a little online attention. Each post in this gallery is a prime example of someone trying a bit too hard to impress, resulting in stories that are less than believable. From made-up heroic acts to fictional romantic encounters that belong in the pages of a bad novel, these “that didn’t happen” moments highlight the peculiar side effects of social media. As you scroll through these posts, you'll find yourself questioning the sanity of it all while laughing at the sheer audacity. These posts are the perfect reminder that sometimes, the best stories are the ones left untold.

POV In high school your nickname was "Athena" Now finally understand why
Recently I was at a birthday party with my 8 year old son. He removed the artificial green frosting on his cupcake and then enjoyed the rest of it with friends. Later I asked him about it.
bro some random girl came into the men's locker room and asked me for my number while I was recording this
I asked him what he wanted to accomplish in "Kindergarten" and he said he wanted to learn how to successfully transplant a variety of native plants without them dying, and also get really good at chess. So, that's what we're doing. This is homeschooling
Before I got off the plane at Munich, I asked the air steward if I could have a word with the pilot. He gave me a knowing smile and took me to the cockpit. Here's the conversation: Me: Flying over the distance we've flown, at the speed we've flown at, as the pilot you'd have had to dip the nose of the plane at regular intervals to allow for the curvature of the earth. Do you do that?
When he smashed wedding cake on my face and ruined my $1600 bridal makeup... but actually ended up saving me $50k in divorce fees (and half my net worth) by showing how little he respected me nice and early so i could still qualify for an annulment i left our reception venue without saying a word and filed the paperwork in the uber home.
This morning I had a seizure outdoors and fell down. One of the raccoons that live in my yard ran over and started nudging me until I sat up. She was whimpering. I let her know I was OK and she left after I made it inside the house. Animals are so kind.
I Open Carry EVERY SINGLE DAY. The best situation I ever had was when an elderly woman approached me in the grocery store and said "I want to thank you for open carrying in here today. I feel so much safer." So l abandoned my cart and took over hers and said "Let me escort you in your shopping today." Walking and talking with her in the grocery store made my day.
Thinking about the random woman that came up to me on the street today and proceeded to shower me with a 5 minute (!!) monologue about how I'm so incredibly beautiful, it not only blinded her but also made her incredibly happy and how my smile made her day and how she now has to pass by here more often only for the small chance of seeing my beauty again, etc. Lemme tell you I nearly cried. I think this might be my new Roman Empire.
